The Endocrine Society has issued a statement regarding the use of HRT. This statement supports much of what the British Menopause Society and other Menopause organisations have been saying for some time with regard to the safety of HRT in perimenopausal and recently postmenopausal women.

The statement should facilitate the use of HRT and so women in need should no longer be denied prescription on the basis of the original analysis of Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) studies. If you are interested in reading more, then please download the full statement from the British Menopause Society website [Word doc, 41KB].

The Endocrine Society is an international body with 14,000 members from over 100 countries. The Society’s diverse membership represents medicine, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, physiology, genetics, immunology, education, industry and allied health fields.
